Imagine...

Imagine waking up on a dirty floor with a pair of underwear saturated in urine. You’re next to your four infant siblings who still have not eaten a good meal in more than a week. But all you have is each other because your mother died 5 months ago and you don’t have anyone who wants to take care of you.

Imagine being born with a limp. Growing up in a shack with little water and food. Then being electrocuted by a cable wire, receiving third degree burns on 40% of your body, and having your arm amputated. Then you lay in a bed for 2 years in extreme poverty wondering if you will ever get to walk again.
Imagine yourself being 72 years old living by yourself in a pest infected ditch. Even though you have arthritis, you manage to drag yourself barefoot across the sidewalk to pick up the banana that someone left behind. You are hungry, waiting for a generous hand to offer you something to eat to kill the anxiety and suffering even for only one day.
Though imagination to you, it is a reality for those who still live impoverished in the three world countries like the Dominican Republic. Its stories like these that have motivated Amelia Diaz to establish the inspirational foundation “Beauty Life”.
With her own efforts, she has initiated and realized many projects in the Dominican Republic. She aims at providing a bit of relief to those who suffer from basic necessities. For example, needs such as basic medicine, food, and shelter. Without asking for help, she has sent food to senior citizens every month for 5 years and sends clowns and toys to the Hospital RiCabral in the Dominican Republic. She has sent over 100 backpacks, 200 sheets, 200 sneakers, 100 pairs of underwear, and 13 televisions. She has also sent $500.00 tanks full of medicine, food, and clothes to several families in dire need.
However, single handed efforts can only help a handful of people. Only collaborative efforts can relieve the pain of impoverished communities around the world. It is not about egos or gimmicks. It is about saving lives and bringing that precious thing that keeps us going in life; hope for a better future. Amelia Diaz invites you to join in this new and important initiative by donating funds, identifying families in need, and/or contributing on an intellectual level.
